UK POLITICS :: Unions to hit Cameron “when” it hurts in run-up to General Election

The Unions are planning to hit David Cameron “when” it hurts with a series of strikes in the run-up to the General Election next May. Battle plans are said to be being drawn up at the TUC conference in Liverpool, which started yesterday. The Unions are furious that pay for their 6.5 million members is not going up in line with Britain’s improving economy with official figures show average pay actually fell for the April-June quarter for the first time since the 2009 recession.
In addition to the pre-Election plans, Local government workers are to launch a fresh one-day strike next month ahead of a mass rally in London to protest against low pay and the public service union is balloting school staff and 350,000 health workers on further stoppages.
